Easy German Sausage

Easy German Sausage

This is really Easy!!! All you need is three ingredients and about 30 minutes and your main dish is done people will think you spent hours on it and who are we to lead them astray? Usually I don't like to post recipes that are this easy but I guess sharing is caring. Try it and let me know how it turns out the man the house never complains when this comes out in fact he's usually silent because he's busy inhaling it :-D Enjoy!

Ingredients

Pre-cooked German sausages (trust me no one will notice)
One white onion
1 can of beer (any kind will do)

Method:

Step 1: Cut your sausages into one inch rounds
Step 2: Chop the onion into large strips
Step 3: In a medium saucepan add sausage, beer, and onions
Step 4: On a low heat cook for 30 minutes or until your little sausages get "fat"

Tips

*If you start running low on liquid you can add a bit of water to prevent from sticking
*when you are done you will be left with a stew like texture which is great to serve over or with mash potatoes
*Since this is a hearty meal don't be afraid to follow the German tradition and serve with a nice cold beer
*Ideas for sides: Baked potato, corn, salad, steamed veggies, rolls, biscuits, garlic pasta
*Try not to serve it with rice even if that's all you have this is really a potato dish
*If you don't have beer you can substitute ginger ale or sweet white wine
*If you don't want to serve alcohol with it you can also serve it with ginger ale
