Halloween candy filled paper balloons

  Halloween candy filled paper balloons

Materials:

Folding paper (origami paper),

bowl

*patience*

Craft level: Medium (unless you are good at paper folding)

My idea came from well living in Asia for a few years. I'm currently teaching ESL to young kids and when Halloween rolls around here there isn't much in ways of decor and costumes. So I make some for Easter in pastel colors and for Halloween in black and orange and then teach my students how to make them as an activity for the holidays. I learned how to make these from my Japanese teacher when I was really young. It stuck with me because she explained it in a simple way and now hopefully you'll pick it up too...

*Once you make one you'll see that the next few come easily. Don't give up if you don't get it right the first time. I have successfully taught this to my five year old students. So give it a good go!

Step 1: Fold the paper into a triangle.
Step 2: Unfold the paper
Step 3: Fold the other half to make another triangle
Step 4 Unfold the paper ( It should look like a kite)
Step 5: *tricky part* take in sides to create one triangle again.
Step 6: Fold loose flaps up to create a diamond
Step 7: Flip and repeat on the other side
Step 8: Take the sides of the "diamond and fold in to create mini triangles.
**you'll notice that there is a mall pocket in these mini triangle
Step 9: repeat on back side
Step 10: With the loose flaps fill these pockets
Step 11: Hold from opposite corners and blow
Step 12: Fill with 1 or 2 small candies

Here is other instructions that I found online..Happy crafting~
