Halloween mud cake


I happen to love gummy worms if you haven't already noticed. This recipe is my chocolate cake recipe with a chocolate glaze. What's the best part of this recipe is that if your cake doesn't turn out perfect after you bake it even better! I ended up pulling the cake in three parts then piecing it back together. I put the glaze on while it was still warm so that it could get into the nooks and crannies the cake created. Read below for some more decorating tips. Happy baking~






Ingredients for the cake
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  •  2 cups all-purpose flour 
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup of brewed coffee 
  • 2  teaspoons  baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder 
  •  1 teaspoon fine salt
  •  2  cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder or extract
  •  3/4 cups of cocoa powder
  • Chocolate chips (optional)
Method: 

Method:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees 
Step 2: grease a pan with butter and flour 
Step 3: Mix dry ingredients in a bowl flour, salt, vanilla, cocoa powder 
Step 4: Add wet ingredients to bowl vegetable oil add sugar combine well
Step 5: Add mixed wet ingredients to dry ones then mix with either a hand whisk (electronic or just by hand) it should resemble the texture of syrup (no lumps) small chocolate pieces are ok
Step 6: Chop chocolate into small pieces stir in before putting mixture in a baking pan
Step 7: Bake for around 15 minutes or until you can poke the cake and your toothpick/knife comes out clean 


Ingredients for glaze
*1 cup of powdered sugar
*3 table spoons of cocoa powder
*3 table spoons of warm water
*1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract 
*3 table spoons of unsalted butter


Method:
Step 1: Melt butter in microwave
Step 2: add vanilla, water, butter to bowl and mix
Step 3: to the same bowl add cocoa powder, powdered sugar and mix
Step 4: once it looks runny you are good to go

Flavored water Strawberry & Lemon Ingredients: Strawberries 10, 1 Lemon Materials: Water canister, knife Step 1: Slice lemon as thin as possible and try to remove all seeds Step 2: Place lemons inside water canister  Step 3: Pop in strawberries Step 4: Fill with water  Step 5: Chill & serve  You can make tons of flavor combinations as I try them I'll post them. Halloween mud worm pudding This is a fun and easy recipe that you can do alone or with your children. These can be made like as in mine into small shot glasses to ensure that every guest gets one and to minimize waste. Ingredients chocolate pudding mix milk (for pudding mix) gummy worms chocolate cereal (balls) Materials : bowl hand mixer or whisk plastic cups spoon blender Method: Step 1: follow instructions on chocolate pudding mix Step 2: place in the fridge to set up Step 3: in your blender take a few cups of chocolate cereal and pulse until it looks like crumbs Step 4: take plastic cups and fill with pudding half way Step 5: fill with half crushed chocolate cereal Step 6: stick a gummy worm in each cup Enjoy! Tips: *You can use cereal that is a little stale for this and it won't make a difference *You can also blend up some chocolate wafer cookies or the black parts of Oreo
