Pumpkin pop game
This game is really easy to set up and is easy enough for the little ones to do. It's simple arrange orange balloons on brown packing paper or even the back of left over Christmas paper. Draw the outline of a pumpkin with a marker, pen or pencil. Then blow up balloons and before tying put a few pieces of candy in. Have the kids blind folded and spin them around three times and throw the dart at the balloons. Each child gets three attempts and gets to keep whatever candy falls out. I did this with my students last year and they loved it!
Materials:
Brown packing paper2-3 packs of orange balloons
2 packs of green balloons
chop stick
push pin
glue
candy
tape
Method:
Step 1: make a popping stick by gluing a push pin to a chop stick you can make it pretty by wrapping in paper or a twisting ribbon or Chanel string around it.Step 2: find your location and cover with desired amount of packing paper
Step 3: Draw the outline of your pumpkin
Step 4: blow up all balloons and put a few pieces of candy in each before tying.
Step 5: stick on balloons with some tape
Step 6: Put all extra balloons in trash bags to have set up next to the game
Tips:
*You can use standard darts for this game but the push pin makes it more difficult and it is also better for the younger ones*For the young ones you can let them run up to it as they may not be able to throw the stick hard enough
*Using water damaged Christmas wrap for the back drop is a great way to reuse that otherwise unusable paper.
*You can use News paper as well for the backdrop
*Make sure not to put more than 2 pieces of candy in each balloon putting more in will make it heavy and cause it to rip off of the back drop
*The reason I came up with spinning the child is because this also makes the game more difficult and fun when I originally just let them just aim at it they seemed unimpressed and said that it was not fun.
